Scenes from Suburban Council boys soccer: Christian Brothers Academy defeats Ballston Spa

COLONIE – Two quick goals by Dylan Bogdon to start the second half helped Christian Brothers Academy pull away for a 4-1 victory over Ballston Spa Tuesday, Sept. 11, in a Suburban Council boys soccer game.

CBA carried the play for much of the first half, only to be denied by the Ballston Spa defense. The Scotties made a few pushes late in the first half, which were handled by the Brothers.

Bogdon ended the scoreless tie in the 44th minute when he received a pass from Dom Jones and tucked the ball into the lower right corner of the goal. Bogdon struck again four minutes later off a feed from Eli D’Onofrio, and Brady Van Epps tallied in the 52nd minute to give CBA a 3-0 lead.

Jeffrey Matthews scored a quick goal on a breakaway for Ballston Spa one minute after Van Epps’ goal, but Keegan Vedder tallied in the 56th minute to re-establish CBA’s three-goal cushion.
