Amsterdam won its second Foothills Council boys soccer game of the season by edging Gloversville 2-1 Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Feras Almasri scored in the 51st minute to give Gloversville (0-5) a 1-0 lead, but two Raul Cruz goals five minutes apart midway through the second half put Amsterdam (2-3) ahead.
Amsterdam goalkeeper Ian Healy made four saves to earn the win, while Gloversville netminder Cayden King stopped seven shots.
Elsewhere in the Foothills Council, Queensbury raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first 12 minutes and cruised to a 7-0 victory over Glens Falls.
Teddy Borgos recorded a hat trick, and Aidan Jordi-Donnelly contributed two goals for Queensbury (5-0 league, 7-1 overall). Borgos and Lucas McCane each added a pair of assists.
Glens Falls goalie Ben Difiore stopped 25 shots.
