Less than 24 hours after beating Cairo-Durham 7-4, Taconic Hills bounced back by edging Catskill 1-0 in a Patroon Conference boys soccer game Saturday, Sept. 15.
The Titans controlled the tempo in the first half, but did not possess the ball well. Catskill attempted to take the lead with a couple of shots in front of the Taconic Hills goal late in the half, but goalkeeper John Disbrow stopped them both.
Taconic Hills applied more offensive pressure on Catskill in the second half, and it paid off when Phillip Davis scored off a pass from Teagan Campion-Pratt. Catskill looked for a late goal to tie the score, but the Titans’ defense held firm.
In Friday’s win over Cairo-Durham, Kolby Clegg struck for five breakaway goals to lead Taconic Hills. Richie Savoia recorded a hat trick for Cairo-Durham.
