Colonial Council girls soccer: Holy Names pulls away from Albany Academy; Mohonasen shuts out Cobleskill-Richmondville

Academy of the Holy Names jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 4-1 victory over Albany Academy for Girls Monday, Sept. 17, in a Colonial Council girls soccer game.

Libby Harris and Marissa DeMartino scored off Megan Marini assists in the first half for Holy Names. Ava Panto tallied twice in the second half – one off an assist from Sam Germano, and the other off a pass by DeMartino.

Jade Carter scored Albany Academy’s lone goal of the afternoon off a direct kick by Cydney Owens. Goalkeeper Andrea Mullen was credited with 30 saves for the Bears.

Elsewhere in the Colonial Council, Mohonasen eased past Cobleskill-Richmondville 6-0 behind two goals each from Izzy O’Clair and Liv Raucci. Hailey Dunsmore and Catie Finn added goals for the Mighty Warriors.

Mohonasen goalie Megan Hart had five saves to post the shutout.
