Western Athletic Conference girls soccer: Mayfield doubles up Fonda-Fultonville

MAYFIELD – Lindsay Hampton’s goal in the 24th minute propelled Mayfield to a 2-1 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer game Monday, Sept. 17.

Alyssa Duval tallied in the third minute to give the visiting Braves a 1-0 lead. Kelsey Meca scored off a pass from Hampton midway through the first half to tie the score at 1-1, and then Hampton struck on an individual effort to put the Panthers ahead.

Mayfield held a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal. Fonda-Fultonville goalkeeper Carly Atty had nine saves to keep her team within striking distance.
