Adirondack League girls soccer: Lake George wins battle of state-ranked teams

Lake George – ranked No. 2 among Class C teams in this week’s New York State Sportswriters Association girls soccer poll – shut out Fort Ann 4-0 in an Adirondack League game Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Rachel Jaeger tallied midway through the first half to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead against the Cardinals, who are ranked No. 8 in Class D. Stephanie Dickinson-Frevola and Rebecca Kohls increased Lake George’s lead with goals two minutes apart within the first 11 minutes of the second half, and Katie O’Donnell added an insurance goal.

Goalkeeper Samantha Jeckel made eight saves to pick up the shutout for Lake George, while Fort Ann netminder Faith Lehoisky stopped 11 shots.
