Colonial Council boys soccer: Schalmont finds its offense in the second half to beat Cobleskill-Richmondville

Schalmont scored all of its goals in the second half to pull away for a 4-0 victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville Wednesday, Sept. 26, in a Colonial Council boys soccer game.

The Sabres had several scoring opportunities in the first half, but Bulldog goalkeeper Nick Beevers stopped them all. Cobleskill-Richmondville came close to getting on the scoreboard late in the first half with a pair of quality shots that Schalmont netminder Ryan Taylor tipped over the crossbar.

Ryan Edwards broke the scoreless tie by curling a long-distance shot past Beevers early in the second half. That opened the floodgates for the Sabres, as Jared Smith tallied two minutes later and added another goal later in the half to put the game out of Cobleskill-Richmondville’s reach. Dom Scalice ended the scoring with less than two minutes remaining.
