Two of the top Class B girls soccer teams in New York State continued their dominance over Colonial Council competition Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Top-ranked Schalmont defeated Cobleskill-Richmondville 10-0, while fifth-ranked Academy of the Holy Names downed Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 7-0.
Sofia Cassano and Ashley Cirilla each recorded hat tricks to lead Schalmont past Cobleskill-Richmondville. Jules Monlea, Gianna Viscusi and Simone Cassano also tallied for the Sabres.
Goalkeeper Sydney Dymes made 15 saves for Cobleskill-Richmondville.
Holy Names used a balanced attack to defeat RCS. Ava Panto tallied three times, while Suzi Smith, Libby Harris and Megan Marini all contributed a goal and an assist for Holy Names. Sam Germano also scored a goal, while goalies Kathleen Harris and Megan Bell stopped a combined total of four shots for the shutout.
