Two of the top small school girls volleyball teams met Monday, Oct. 1, in Voorheesville, with Lake George pulling out a 3-1 victory over the Blackbirds.
Voorheesville – the defending Class C champion – won the first set 25-20, but Lake George took the next three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 25-14 to maintain its perfect record in match play.
Alysia Kane and Mikayla Duffy each recorded 10 kills to lead Lake George’s offense. Jazzy Burke had 14 service points and 29 assists, while Adrianna Eigo led the defensive effort with 22 digs and 17 service receptions, to go along with 12 service points. Kane and Nikki Hladik also contributed 1 solo block and five assisted blocks apiece, and Duffy added eight assisted blocks.
