Lake George scored three goals in the second half to pull away for a 5-1 victory over Bolton/Warrensburg Tuesday, Oct. 2, in an Adirondack League girls soccer game.
The Warriors – ranked No. 2 in the most recent New York State Sportswriters Association Class C girls soccer poll – jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Gabby Marchello and Sarah Kohls within the first 10 minutes of the game. Aubrey Ranous tallied off an assist by Gabs Mowery at the 12:40 mark to pull Bolton/Warrensburg within a goal, and the score remained 2-1 through the rest of the first half.
Gabby Weidner struck less than nine minutes into the second half to give Lake George a 3-1 lead. Kohls added her second goal of the afternoon six minutes later, and Katie O’Donnell added an insurance goal with less than eight minutes left in regulation to seal the Warriors’ victory.
Goalkeeper Samantha Jeckel had two saves for Lake George, while Bolton/Warrensburg goalie Jordan Barker stopped 12 shots.
