Guillermo Menendez scored the game-winning goal with three minutes left in the second overtime period to lift Taconic Hills to a 3-2 victory over Cairo-Durham Thursday, Oct. 4, in a Patroon Conference boys soccer game.
Diego Rivera tied the score at 2-2 for Cairo-Durham with 11 minutes left in regulation. The two sides battled through the first 10-minute overtime period before Menendez received Chris Davis’ crossing pass inside the box and shot the ball into the net.
Davis and Kolby Clegg each scored within the first 10 minutes of the second half to give Taconic Hills a 2-0 lead. Richie Savoia got Cairo-Durham on the scoreboard with 29 minutes left in the half off an assist from Corbin Rivenburg.
