Colonial Council boys soccer: Catholic Central squeaks past Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk; Mohonasen and Schalmont play to a scoreless tie

Catholic Central hung on for a 3-2 victory over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in a Colonial Council boys soccer game Friday, Oct. 5, in Troy.

Lucas Kania and Liam McDonald each had a goal and an assist to lead the Crusaders’ balanced attack. Joe Piperata also scored for Catholic Central, and goalkeeper Noah Miller made two saves.

Bryan Schwabrow tallied for RCS, and goalie Shane Racey stopped seven shots.

Elsewhere in the Colonial Council, Mohonasen and Schalmont played to another scoreless tie. Mohonasen goalie Tyson Hallberg stopped four shots, while Schalmont netminder Ryan Taylor made five saves.

It was Schalmont’s fourth consecutive overtime game and its second tie during the stretch.
