Wasaren League boys soccer: Hunter Guertin’s hat trick leads Waterford-Halfmoon to victory; Greenwich shuts out Saratoga Central Catholic

Hunter Guertin recorded a hat trick to lead Waterford-Halfmoon to a 4-2 victory over Hoosic Valley Friday, Oct. 5, in a Wasaren League boys soccer game.

Jaycen Janusz contributed a goal, and goalkeeper Bobby Valigorsky made 14 saves for the Fordians. Isaac Carlo tallied for Hoosic Valley off a free kick. An own goal against Waterford-Halfmoon with 30 seconds left gave the Indians their other goal.

Elsewhere in the Wasaren League, Greenwich shut out Saratoga Central Catholic 3-0. Charlie Gartner tallied in the 25th minute and added a second goal midway through the second half for the Witches. Tyler Murray had Greenwich’s third goal off a pass from AJ Rymph.

Preston Famiglietti made eight saves for Saratoga Central Catholic.

Hoosick Falls edged Tamarac 2-1. Connor Powers and Evan Webster scored Hoosick Falls’ goals, while Dylan Briccetti tallied for Tamarac. Goalkeepers Cody Hodges (Hoosick Falls) and Andrew Minbiole (Tamarac) each stopped six shots.
