Kyle Sharpe Tournament: Delaware Academy edges Amsterdam for title; Schoharie defeats Fonda-Fultonville

SCHOHARIE – Delaware Academy of Delhi, NY, defeated Amsterdam 1-0 in the finals of the Kyle Sharpe Boys Soccer Tournament Saturday, Oct. 6, at Schoharie High School.

Logan Aikens scored in the final two minutes of the first half to give Delaware Academy (9-3-1) the lead. Amsterdam put together a few scoring chances in the game, but goalkeeper Logan Bryan made five saves to earn the shutout.

Goalie Ian Healy had five saves for Amsterdam (5-8-0).

In the consolation game, Schoharie edged Fonda-Fultonville 2-1 in a game suspended at halftime due to poor field conditions. Skylar Jankowski and Noah Fagnani tallied for the Indians, and goalie Bailey Smart recorded four saves.

Cody Hansen tallied for Fonda-Fultonville, and goalie Mitch Araya made nine saves.
