Suburban Council girls soccer: Guilderland fends off Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake; Saratoga Springs gets past Columbia

Guilderland improved its record to 8-4-2 with a 3-2 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Tuesday, Oct. 9, in a Suburban Council girls soccer game.

All of the goal scoring came in the first half. Molly Dicaprio, Margot Nezaj and Lauren Conti tallied for Guilderland, while Raia James and Mollie Boone notched Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake’s goals.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake goalkeepers Hannah Ashcraft and Kelly Anderson made a combined total of 10 saves for the Lady Spartans (4-8-0). Kiersten Becker stopped five shots on goal for the Lady Dutch.

Elsewhere in the Suburban Council, Maddie Tousignant’s goal late in the first half proved to be the game winner for Saratoga Springs in a 1-0 victory over Columbia.

Goalie Sage Smith made 10 saves to keep Columbia in the game against Saratoga Springs (7-2-4).
