On a rainy evening in Columbia County, Taconic Hills and Coxsackie-Athens played to a 0-0 tie Thursday, Oct. 11, in a Patroon Conference boys soccer game.
Coxsackie-Athens generated some early chances that Taconic Hills’ defenders turned away. The Titans gradually started mounting attacks of their own on the Indians’ back line, but they couldn’t generate any quality shots on goal.
The second half featured more scoring chances for both sides, but goalies from Taconic Hills and Coxsackie-Athens turned aside shot after shot to keep the score sheet clean. Coxsackie-Athens’ defense continued to thwart Taconic Hills’ attackers in overtime, but the Indians could not muster much on the counter attack.
It was the Patroon Conference’s first tie of the boys soccer season.
