Liv Raucci scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead No. 6 Mohonasen to a 3-0 victory over No. 11 Gloversville in the opening round of the Section 2 Class A girls soccer playoffs Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Rotterdam.
Matti Muller also tallied for the Mighty Warriors, and Hailey Dunsmore contributed an assist.
Mohonasen advances to the Sectional quarterfinals Thursday, Oct. 18, against No. 3 Queensbury.
In other Class A opening round games, No. 8 Lansingburgh defeated its in-city rival Troy (No. 9) 3-0. Maddy Teta scored all three of the Knights’ goals. Lansingburgh meets top-seeded Averill Park Thursday.
No. 5 Scotia-Glenville cruised past No. 12 Amsterdam 9-0. Tanya Leggiero led a balanced Tartans attack with two goals and three assists. Scotia-Glenville faces No. 4 Ballston Spa Thursday.
No. 7 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake shut out No. 10 Emma Willard 9-0 to advance to Thursday’s quarterfinal against No. 2 South Glens Falls. Shayna Connally and Cassidy Karl each tallied a pair of goals for the Spartans. Emma Willard goalkeeper Cara Lecosz had 15 saves.
