Schuylerville girls, Scotia-Glenville boys win team titles at Foothills Council Cross Country Championships

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Schuylerville finished on top of a competitive field in the girls race, and Scotia-Glenville won the boys team title at Monday’s Foothills Council Cross Country Championships at Saratoga Spa State Park.

In a race where the top five girls teams were separated by 23 points, Schuylerville prevailed by placing three runners in the top 15 to finish with 76 points. Sunni LaBounty claimed the individual title for the Black Horses by finishing in a time of 19:10.73, while teammates Anya Vautrin (seventh place, 20:23.98) and Megan Vianese (11th, 20:45.51) were among 14 runners who posted sub 21-minute times.

Queensbury was second in the girls team standings with 86 points, followed by Scotia-Glenville in third place with 90 points. Broadalbin-Perth placed fourth with 96 points, and South Glens Falls rounded out the top five with 99 points.

On the boys’ side, Scotia-Glenville took first place with 33 points. Queensbury was second with 67 points, while Schuylerville placed third with 102 points and Broadalbin-Perth finished fourth with 107 points.

Queensbury’s Nick Logan won the boys’ individual title with a time of 15:39.18, but Scotia-Glenville had four runners in the top 10 to dominate the team standings. Gabriel Winters-Bona led the Tartans with a second-place finish in a time of 16:00.30.
