Outlook for the season: Assistant coach Jim Rodecker said the merger between the Johnstown and Fonda-Fultonville wrestling programs is bearing fruit in 2018-19 season.
“This is our second year as a merged team, and it has definitely proven to increase our number of wrestlers on the roster,” said Rodecker. “We have a total of 25 varsity wrestlers on the roster this year. We have a total of 24 modified wrestlers on the roster, as well. So, the future looks great for the wrestling program.”
Rodecker said Fonda-Johnstown is looking to contend for the WAC title and a possible Section 2 Class B championship.
“The only challenge we will face is being placed in the Class B Sectionals and having to compete in the Division 1 (large school) state qualifiers,” said Rodecker.
