LATHAM – The Section 2 gymnastics season started Saturday, Dec. 8, with the annual Shaker Invitational. The four Section 2 teams – Shaker, Bethlehem, Guilderland and Saratoga Springs – and Section 1’s Mahopac competed for individual all-around honors.

Three of the top four all-around gymnasts were from Saratoga. Laura Eberlein edged teammate Ava Dallas 34.500 to 34.450 for first place, while Sophia Damiano finished fourth with a score of 33.700. Damiano had the top scores in two events, the vault and floor exercise.

The top 10 individuals were:
