Ichabod Crane senior midfielder Anthony Carlucci received his second consecutive first team recognition when the United Soccer Coaches announced its All-New York boys soccer team Friday, Dec. 14.
Carlucci was named to the small schools division (classes B, C and D) first team after putting together a strong 2018 campaign, in which he scored 16 goals in leading the Riders to the Section 2 Class B final. Teammate Gio Gomez was selected as a fifth team all-star.
In all, 12 Section 2 boys soccer players received all-state nods. They are:
First team – Anthony Carlucci (Ichabod Crane)
Second team – Ryan Edwards (Schalmont)
Third team – Jared Smith (Schalmont)
Fourth team – Ethan Knauf and Alex Leonelli (Lake George)
Fifth team – Gio Gomez (Ichabod Crane) and Kagan Helms (Lake George)
Large schools (classes A and AA)
Second team – Keegan Vedder (CBA) and Ray Jones (Queensbury)
Third team – Jimmy Joyce (Niskayuna)
Fourth team – Merjan Ozisik (Niskayuna)
Fifth team – Teddy Borgos (Queensbury)
