Frank Zotto scored 22 of his team-high 29 points in the second half to lead Tamarac to a 75-71 victory over Greenwich Friday, Dec. 14, in a Wasaren League boys basketball game.
Zotto scored 13 points in the third quarter alone to help the Bengals erase a two-point halftime deficit. Jacob DeFreest contributed seven points during the surge and finished with 17 points.
John Walsh had 27 points, and Alex Curtis added 14 points for Greenwich.
Elsewhere in the Wasaren League, Mechanicville edged Hoosic Valley 50-48. Nick Billert netted 15 points for the Red Raiders, while Zach Ryan poured in 25 points for the Panthers.
Saratoga Central Catholic defeated Cambridge 63-51 behind Jake Welcome’s 23-point performance. Jeffrey Burke had 17 points, and Brian Hall added 14 points for Cambridge.
An 18-7 run in the third quarter helped Hoosick Falls handle Stillwater 61-44. Tristan Williams scored 21 points, and Max Kipp chipped in with 17 points for Hoosick Falls. Brian McNeil led Stillwater with 15 points.
Waterford-Halfmoon raced out to a 30-6 lead in the first quarter and cruised to an 85-41 victory over Berlin. Bobby Valigorski led the way with 25 points, and T.J. Kelley added 18 points for the Fordians. Kasey Billert scored 10 points for Berlin.
