Scenes from the Shenendehowa Holiday Invitational boys swim meet

CLIFTON PARK – Pittsford (Section 5) repeated as team champion at this year’s Shenendehowa Holiday Invitational Boys Swimming and Diving Meet Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Shen Aquatic Center.

Pittsford finished with 398.5 points to cruise to the team title. Shen was second with 368 points, and Niskayuna placed third with 291 points.

Shen’s Kaleb Hotaling and Niskayuna’s Bryan Liu each won two individual events. Hotaling won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:56.00 and took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.82 seconds. Liu finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.97 seconds and won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.42 seconds.

Liu was also part of two winning relays for Niskayuna. He joined Cameron Goodspeed, Mark Lipkin and Scott Ward on the 200-yard medley relay team that won with a time of 1:39.07. Later, Liu, Lipkin, Ward and Victor Schingo took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.95.

Niskayuna’s Matthew Chao added a victory in the 1-meter diving, and the Shen 400-meter freestyle relay team of Hotaling, James Jordan, Shrujay Rompicherla and Jackson Homan took first place in its event.
