Schalmont won the battle of undefeated Colonial Council boys basketball teams with a 72-58 victory over Watervliet Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Shane O’Dell poured in 34 points, and LJ Randle contributed 23 points for the Sabres, who outscored Watervliet 41-25 in the second half to pull away. Messiah Mallory had 19 points, and J.J. Chestnut chipped in with 17 points for Watervliet.
Elsewhere in the Colonial Council, LaSalle eased past Cohoes 56-24. Garrett Myers had 11 points, and Jimyh Evans added 10 points for the Cadets. Ivan Brajac led Cohoes with eight points.
Joe Saia made four three-pointers as part of a season-high 32-point performance in Voorheesville’s 64-61 victory over Mohonasen. Duncan Tallman made six three-pointers and finished with a team-high 26 points for Mohonasen.
Cobleskill-Richmondville started the game with a 21-6 run and carried the momentum to a 62-45 victory over Ichabod Crane. Andrew Tracy netted 22 points, and Steve Maniscalco contributed 11 points for Cobleskill-Richmondville. Zach Kennedy and Mike Vecellio each scored 10 points for Ichabod Crane.
