Albany Academy for Girls built a 19-9 lead in the first quarter and hung on for a 56-48 victory over Lansingburgh Tuesday, Dec. 18, in a Colonial Council girls basketball game.
Meleena Ottati netted 15 points, Sarah Richardson contributed 14 points and Aaliyah Juste added 13 points for Albany Academy for Girls. Madison Teta scored 16 points to lead three Lansingburgh players in double digits. Patience Riley had 14 points, and Autumn Anderson recorded 11 points.
Voorheesville defeated Mohonasen 57-48 in another Colonial Council clash. Olivia Barringer poured in 32 points for the Blackbirds, while Breanna Lott scored 16 points for the Mighty Warriors. Shiya Hunter added 14 points for Mohonasen.
Watervliet closed out the game on an 18-2 run to defeat Schalmont 59-41. Amia Maldonado and Makayla Milligan each netted 12 points to lead a balanced Watervliet attack. Payton Graber paced Schalmont with 16 points.
Catholic Central overcame a slow start to defeat Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 56-39. Sarah Mattefield led the Crusaders with 19 points, while Sarah Hotaling paced RCS with 14 points.
A 16-4 run in the first quarter propelled Ichabod Crane past Cobleskill-Richmondville 50-38. Madison Graham netted 16 points for the Riders.
