Shenendehowa outscored Columbia 35-16 over the course of the second and third quarters to defeat the Blue Devils 64-45 Tuesday, Dec. 18, in a Suburban Council boys basketball game.
Jake Reinisch had another big night for the Plainsmen. Reinisch made six shots from beyond the three-point arc and finished with 30 points to lead all scorers. Nick Lemire added 12 points, nine of which came from beyond the three-point line.
Jack Romer scored 13 points, and three more players contributed nine points apiece for Columbia.
Elsewhere in the Suburban Council, Christian Brothers Academy fended off a Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake rally to pull out a 53-51 victory. Jordan King netted 25 points, and Peter O’Toole added 13 points for CBA, which led 44-37 after three quarters. Branson Otis and Jack Wyatt both scored 12 points for BH-BL.
Colonie outscored Averill Park 13-5 in overtime to defeat the Warriors 62-54. Marcus Shelton’s 25 points paced the Garnet Raiders, while Zach Price led the Warriors with 23 points.
Saratoga Springs defeated Ballston Spa 63-55 behind a balanced offense paced by Michael Rogan’s 17 points. Aidan Holmes chipped in with 14 points, and Will Fox added 11 points for the Blue Streaks. Keegan Zoller netted 19 points for Ballston Spa.
Nazaire Merritt’s 23-point night propelled Troy to a 65-56 victory over Shaker. Trey Mariano had 16 points for Shaker.
Bethlehem raced out to a 54-14 halftime lead on its way to a 77-48 victory over Albany. Michael Ortale recorded 17 points, and Justin Barnes chipped in with 10 points for the Eagles. Michael Benitez scored 15 points for the Falcons.
Schenectady started strong and gradually pulled away for a 67-45 victory over Guilderland. Jonon White knocked down 14 points, and Elijah Johnsen contributed 13 points for Schenectady. Brandon Caulfield drained six three-pointers and finished with 20 points for Guilderland.
