Notre Dame of Utica defeated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 43-36 to win the inaugural Mohonasen Holiday Classic girls basketball tournament Saturday, Dec. 29.
Emma Sehring netted 20 points to lead Notre Dame to the seven-point win. Ajla Sedjic made three shots from beyond the three-point arc as part of a 10-point night.
Carlie Rzeszotarski had 17 points for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.
In the consolation game, Mekeel Christian Academy fended off a late Mohonasen charge to win 48-41. Avery Mills scored 20 points, and Madison Show added 15 points for the Lions, who led by 13 points entering the fourth quarter.
Breanna Lott netted 18 points, and Sam Purzycki added 13 points for Mohonasen.
At the Maple Hill Holiday Hoopfest, Hoosic Valley defeated the hosts 44-27 in the championship game. Sami Dickinson scored 15 points, and Alex Rifenburg contributed 14 points for Hoosic Valley, which broke the game open with a 13-3 run in the second quarter.
Natasha Strock led Maple Hill with 11 points.
