A strong first game and a 1-pin victory in the third game helped Gloversville defeat Schuylerville 3-1 Thursday, Jan. 3, in a Foothills Council bowling match at Saratoga Bowl.
Gloversville won the first game 1,234-1,033 before dropping the second game to Schuylerville by 26 pins – 1,136-1,110. The third game came down to the wire, as Gloversville edged Schuylerville 979-978.
Gloversville’s Derek Taylor led all bowlers with a 611 series, and he rolled the high game of the match with a 230. Adrian Dorman added a 550 series for the Huskies.
Colton Weatherwax led Schuylerville with a 589 series, including a high game of 225. Logan Steele contributed a 556 series for the Black Horses.
Gloversville entered Thursday’s match off a 3-1 loss to Amsterdam Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Arterial Lanes. Three Gloversville bowlers had 600+ series, led by Adam Loveless, who rolled a 654 set. Dorman took high game honors for the Huskies with a 276 as part of a 633 series, and Taylor recorded a 635 three-game set.
Jon Schultz paced Amsterdam with a 659 series, while Mekhi Curry bowled a 249 to take high game honors. Patrick Hyum had a 648 series for the Rugged Rams.
