Mohonasen outscored Catholic Central 23-9 in the second quarter to take control on its way to a 66-50 home victory Friday, Jan. 11, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
Duncan Tallman led four Mohonasen players in double digits with 15 points. Nicholas Richmond had 13 points, Shawn Gillisslee contributed 12 points and Logan Calkins added 10 points for the Mighty Warriors.
Jackson Brown scored 30 points for Catholic Central, but it was not enough to offset Mohonasen’s balanced attack.
Elsewhere in the Colonial Council, Schalmont used a 21-6 run in the second quarter to pull away for a 73-49 victory over Voorheesville. Shane O’Dell poured in 38 points for the Sabres, while LJ Randle chipped in with 19 points. Noah Parker led Voorheesville with 15 points.
LaSalle scored 11 of the game’s last 12 points to defeat Cobleskill-Richmondville 41-27. Connor Cepiel netted 17 points for the Cadets, who used a 15-5 run in the second quarter to take a 23-17 halftime lead. Donovan Pacatte led the way for Cobleskill-Richmondville with 12 points.
Watervliet outscored Ichabod Crane 25-3 in the second quarter on its way to a 67-31 victory over the Riders on the road. Messiah Mallory had 18 points in the paint for the Cannoneers, while Khari Croley scored 14 points. Christian Pesano paced Ichabod Crane with 17 points.
Lansingburgh raced out to a 43-18 halftime lead and defeated Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 80-41. Isaiah Knight and Trevor Green each scored 15 points for the Knights, while C.J. Bianchino and Eddie Greenwood netted 13 points apiece for the Indians.
