Adirondack League girls basketball: Whitehall rebounds from rough start to defeat Granville

After scoring one point in the first quarter, Whitehall outscored Granville 36-10 over the final three quarters to defeat the Golden Horde 37-20 Friday, Jan. 11, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.

Zoe Eggleston and Ashlyn Groesbeck each scored nine points for the Railroaders. Groesbeck hit three shots from behind the three-point arc.

Haley Corlew had seven points for Granville, including a pair of three-pointers.

Elsewhere in the Adirondack League, Warrensburg remained undefeated with a 70-43 victory over Hartford. The Burghers jumped out to a 33-13 halftime lead and didn’t look back in improving their record to 9-0 in the league and 13-0 overall.

Abigail Ranous led four Warrensburg players in double figures with 20 points. Hope Boland contributed 16 points, Megan Hughes chipped in with 14 points and Sara Langworthy added 11 points.

Karlee Nims led Hartford with 15 points, and Gabrielle McFerran netted 13 points.

Lake George built a 32-17 halftime advantage and pulled away for a 66-35 victory over Fort Ann. Graceann Bennett scored 19 points, and Rachel Jaeger added 11 points for Lake George. Sarah Paige paced Fort Ann with 12 points.

Fort Edward outscored Corinth 29-11 over the course of the second and third quarters in a 50-38 victory over the Tomahawks. Mady Thomas (14 points) and Gabby Thomas (13 points) led the way for the Flying Forts. Alexa Abbatantuono scored 15 points for Corinth.
