Shenendehowa rallied past Columbia 47-34 to win the Division 1 title at the Section 2 Dual Meet Championships Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Shenendehowa High School.
The Plainsmen found themselves down by as many as 14 points in the championship match before taking six of the final seven bouts, including the last four in a row.
Colden Dorfman (170 pounds), Sebastian Underwood (220), David Ensminger (99) and Stevo Poulin (106) recorded pins for Shenendehowa. Jacob Slovak (126), Zach Strope (132), Jakob Edwards (160) and Ryan Duryea (195) pinned their opponents for Columbia.
Shen advanced to the final with a 49-26 victory over Queensbury, while Columbia defeated Ballston Spa 40-28 in its semifinal match.

At the Division 2 Dual Meet Championships, top-seeded Warrensburg defended its home mat by defeating Hadley-Luzerne/Lake George 46-39 in the finals. The championship match ended with Warrensburg’s Zachary Carpenter (126 pounds) receiving an injury default victory over Quinton Fox to seal the victory.
The War Eagles won six straight bouts to take a 33-10 lead, but pins by Dylan Winchell (113 pounds) and Tanner McKenna (120) helped the Burghers take the lead and eventually the match.
Warrensburg defeated Whitehall/Fort Ann 48-27 in one of the semifinal matches, while Hadley-Luzerne/Lake George prevailed over Watervliet in the other semifinal.
