One week after defeating Saratoga Springs, Shaker edged Niskayuna 38-35 in a Suburban Council wrestling match Wednesday, Jan. 16.

Jashon Homes’ pin against Brody Johnson at 106 pounds and Michael Santore’s 15-2 victory over Matthew Whelan at 113 pounds gave the Blue Bison a 38-32 lead. Jack Schiavo closed out the match with a 5-4 victory over Austin Sill at 120 pounds for Niskayuna, but it wasn’t enough.

Ghassan Chehade (182 pounds) and Ryan Stein (195) also recorded pins for Shaker. Ben Catrambone (126), Willie Thacker (138) and Peter Meshkov (160) pinned their opponents for Niskayuna.
