Scenes from Wasaren League girls basketball: Tamarac tops Stillwater

STILLWATER – Tamarac went on a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 45-38 victory over Stillwater Friday, Jan. 18, in a Wasaren League girls basketball game.

The lead changed hands several times in the second half until Emily Erickson made a free throw to give the Bengals a 37-36 lead. Kate Machnick hit a three-pointer, and Syrita Faraj made a long jump shot during Tamarac’s run to put the game out of Stillwater’s reach.

Erickson finished with 25 points for the Bengals, more than half of which came from the free throw line. Machnick and Faraj each contributed seven points.

Marley Mueller had 15 points, and Molly Sheehan chipped in with 10 points for Stillwater, which had a 21-18 halftime lead after trailing 9-3 in the first quarter.
