Hoosic Valley went on a 13-5 run in the third quarter to take the lead and held on for a 46-38 victory over Cambridge Friday, Jan. 18, in a Wasaren League boys basketball game in Schaghticoke.
Eight players contributed points for Hoosic Valley, led by 11 points each from Isaac Carlo and Derek Eddy. Brian Hall had 12 points, and Jeffrey Burke chipped in with nine points for Cambridge.
Elsewhere in the Wasaren League, Tamarac (7-2 league, 10-3 overall) defeated Stillwater 53-43 to post its first double digit-win season in 10 years. Frank Zotto scored 14 points for the Bengals, who overcame an early 16-9 deficit to get the home victory.
Bo Catherwood contributed 12 points, and Jacob DeFreest added 11 points for Tamarac. Brian McNeil led Stillwater with 18 points, and Josh Luca chipped in with 13 points.
Mechanicville edged Greenwich 60-59 on the road. Josh Germain scored 15 points, including the game-clinching three pointer with 4.7 seconds left in regulation. Anthony Attala paced the Red Raiders with 19 points.
Carson Mosher led Greenwich with 20 points, and John Walsh added 17 points.
Jordan Catone and Nick Condry each scored 12 points to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a 59-42 victory over Berlin. Cody Hunt had 12 points, and Malachi Ritter added 11 points for Berlin.
