Adirondack League girls basketball: Warrensburg’s balanced attack too much for Fort Ann

Warrensburg’s balanced attack was too much for Fort Ann to overcome, as the Burghers pulled away for a 73-46 victory Friday, Jan. 25, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.

Three Warrensburg players reached double digits in the scoring column, led by Hope Boland’s 18 points. Megan Hughes contributed 17 points, and Abigail Ranous added 16 points for the Burghers.

Amanda Godfrey netted 23 points for Fort Ann, which trailed 47-26 at halftime.

Elsewhere in the Adirondack League, Lake George jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 63-40 victory over Corinth. Graceann Bennett had 18 points, and Nikki Hladik chipped in with 15 points for the Lady Warriors. Alexa Abbatantuono scored 12 points, and Maddie DeLisle added 11 points for the Tomahawks.

Fort Edward posted a 67-40 victory over Argyle. Mady Thomas paced the Flying Forts with 23 points, while Gabby Thomas contributed 17 points. Paige Cormie scored eight points for the Scots.

Whitehall used a 15-3 run in the second quarter to propel itself past Salem 46-24. Kyrie Smith netted 14 points, and Jessica Moore added 10 points for the Railroaders. Mikayah Rushinski had 13 points for the Lady Generals.
