Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons closed the game on a 23-11 run to pull away for a 70-50 victory over Northville in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Wednesday, Jan. 30.
The key to the Golden Knights’ success was in the paint, as Noah Foster and Rodney Parker dominated the Falcons. Foster poured in a game-high 28 points, while Parker contributed 18 points.
Jason Ellsworth had 17 points, and T.J. Wadsworth added 16 points for Northville, which trailed ND-BG by five points at halftime.
In another WAC game, Schoharie fended off Daunesburg 62-59. The Eagles scored 31 points in the fourth quarter to trim a double-diigit deficit to a one-possession game before running out of time to catch the Indians.
Shane Helmstadt drained five three-pointers on his way to a 28-point night, and Skyler Jankowski added 15 points for Schoharie, which used a 14-5 run in the third quarter to build a 41-28 advantage. Jakob Stahl had 19 points for Duanesburg, with 15 of those points coming from behind the three-point arc. Lenahan Gamache chipped in with 16 points.
