CDHSHL: Michael Bievenue scores six goals in Bethlehem’s victory over Albany Academy

Bethlehem’s Michael Bievenue could not be stopped as he led the Eagles to a 7-2 victory over Albany Academy Friday, Feb. 1, in a Capital District High School Hockey League game at the Albany Academy Fieldhouse.

Bievenue scorched the nets for six goals to raise his Section 2-leading goal total to 39 for the season. Justin Chenaille contributed a goal and three assists, while Ben LaVigne, William Bievenue and Connor Carroll all added a pair of assists. Goalie Michael Kurdziolek stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced to earn the victory.

Dan Guy made 29 saves between the posts, while Tom McGuire and Dan Moshier tallied for Albany Academy.

Shenendehowa pulled out a 5-4 victory over Christian Brothers Academy at Clifton Park Arena. Brennan Alheim struck for a pair of goals, and Kent Leighton made 33 saves for the Plainsmen. Michael Cochran notched two goals, and goalie Josh Coburn stopped 26 shots for the Brothers.

Saratoga Springs used a seven-goal run to pull away for an 11-3 victory over the Capital District Jets at Vernon Arena. Joe Amodio registered a hat trick, and Andrew Blanchard added two goals and two assists for the Blue Streaks. Frankie Conquista, Scott Matson and Robert Doyle tallied for the Jets.

In non-league action, Queensbury defeated North Rockland (Section 1) 5-3 behind two goals from Brendan Duffy and 21 saves from goalie Owen Smith. Camden Murphy contributed a goal and an assist, while Jack Randall, Devon Salone and Trevor Vogel all added a pair of assists.

Burnt Hills/Ballston Spa notched a 10-1 victory over Monroe-Woodbury (Section 9), while Beekmantown (Section 7) defeated Adirondack 4-1.
