Colonial Council girls basketball: Cohoes rallies to defeat Cobleskill-Richmondville in overtime

Cohoes outscored Cobleskill-Richmondville 9-3 in overtime to pull out a 54-48 victory in a Colonial Council girls basketball game Friday, Feb. 1.

Trailing 23-19 at halftime, Cohoes pulled even by outscoring Cobleskill-Richmondville 26-22 in the second half. Olivia Huneau led the Tigers’ charge with 18 points, while Maggie Saunders contributed 12 points.

In other Colonial Council action. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk cruised past Albany Academy for Girls 58-31 behind Lauren Sanderson’s 19 points. Aaliyah Juste scored nine points for Albany Academy.

Ichabod Crane outscored Lansingburgh 12-7 in the fourth quarter to edge the Knights 46-43. Madison Graham tallied 11 points, and Riley Paul added 10 points for the Riders. Patience Riley scored 15 points for Lansingburgh.

Schalmont outscored Mohonasen 28-12 in the second half to defeat its crosstown rival 57-43. Haley Burchhardt made five three-pointers and finished with 28 points for the Sabres, while Payton Graber contributed 14 points. Shiya Hunter had 15 points, and Breanna Lott added 12 points for the Mighty Warriors.

Voorheesville built a 44-20 halftime lead and sailed past Watervliet 80-56. Olivia Barringer had her biggest game of the season for the Blackbirds, as she poured in 37 points. Amia Maldonado netted 17 points for the Cannoneers.
