Whitehall needed a big fourth quarter to defeat Corinth 46-42 Tuesday, Feb. 5, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Corinth outscored Whitehall 14-3 in the third quarter to turn a six-point halftime deficit into a 31-26 lead. The Railroaders stormed back, though, and limited the Tomahawks to 11 points in the fourth quarter to regain their advantage in the end.
Zoe Eggleston scored 20 points to lead Whitehall, which began the game by building an 18-11 lead in the first quarter. Mya Touchette contributed eight points, and Jessica Moore added seven points.
Alexa Abbatantuono drained three shots from behind the three-point arc and finished with 20 points for Corinth. Allison McFarlane chipped in with 12 points, half of which came from a pair of three-pointers.
The victory raised Whitehall’s league record to 6-8 and its overall record to 11-8. Corinth dropped to 7-7 in the Adirondack League and 9-10 overall.
