Tamarac outscored Mechanicville 22-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 78-67 victory in a Wasaren League boys basketball game Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Anthony Ciampolillo had a big game for the Bengals, as he sank five three-pointers as part of a 30-point night. Frank Zotto contributed 23 points, and Bo Catherwood added 10 points.
Luci D’Ambro netted 17 points, and Nick Billert chipped in with 16 points for Mechanicville, which was within three points of Tamarac entering the fourth quarter.
Elsewhere in the Wasaren League, Waterford-Halfmoon jumped out to a 19-9 lead in the first quarter and defeated Saratoga Central Catholic 65-50. Four Fordians reached double figures, led by 16 points apiece by Michael Talavera and Bobby Valigorski. Evan Fairclough netted 13 points, and T.J. Kelley had 12 points for Waterford-Halfmoon.
Ryan McCarroll paced Spa Catholic with 19 points, and Nick Condry added 13 points.
