Whitehall jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in defeating Granville 43-29 Friday, Feb. 8, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Zoe Eggleston netted 11 points, and Jessica Moore added 10 points for the Railroaders, who completed the regular season with a 6-8 record in the league and an overall mark of 12-8.
Haley Corlew led Granville with 13 points, and Andrea Haynes added seven points.
Elsewhere in the Adirondack League, Fort Ann pulled away for a 50-40 victory over Corinth. The Cardinals outscored the Tomahawks 17-8 in the third quarter to push their lead to double digits.
Amanda Godfrey and Sarah Paige were responsible for all but three of Fort Ann’s points. Godfrey made nine shots from the field on her way to a 26-point night, while Paige made nine of her 10 free throws as part of a 21-point performance.
Corinth’s scoring was more balanced than Fort Ann. Five players scored at least five points in the contest, with Maddie DeLisle leading the way with 11 points. Alexa Abbatantuono and Allison McFarlane each chipped in with eight points for the Tomahawks.
