WAC boys basketball: Northville, Fort Plain and Berne-Knox-Westerlo win crossover games

The Western Athletic Conference held crossover boys basketball games Saturday, Feb. 9, at Fulton Montgomery Community College.

In the first game of the triple header, Northville cruised past Middleburgh 62-37. The Falcons raced out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter and pulled away by outscoring the Knights 17-7 in the third quarter.

T.J. Wadsworth drained six three-pointers and finished with 21 points to lead Northville’s offense. Nate Reidell knocked down an additional four three-pointers on his way to a 17-point afternoon, and Jason Ellsworth added 14 points for the Falcons.

Taylor Olsen had 10 points, and Brandon Henry chipped in with eight points for Middleburgh.

After losing a six-point halftime lead, Fort Plain rallied for a 51-48 victory over Galway in the second crossover game. The Eagles outscored the Toppers 20-12 in the third quarter to pull ahead, but Fort Plain limited Galway to seven points down the stretch to earn the victory.

Danny Kilmartin poured in 18 points, while Troy Butler added 17 points for Fort Plain. Mike Sowle paced Galway with 16 points.

In the final contest of the day, Berne-Knox-Westerlo defeated Duanesburg 51-39. The Bulldogs overcame a slow start by going on a 15-0 run in the second quarter and created a double-digit lead in the third quarter with a 17-7 spurt.

Zeke Pulliam lit it up from the perimeter with four three-pointers as part of a 19-point night for BKW. Lenahan Gamache scored nine points for Duanesburg.
