Section 2 bowling: Spa Catholic captures Class C/D title; Lansingburgh holds on to state tournament berth

Saratoga Central Catholic claimed the team title at the Section 2 Class C/D boys bowling championships Monday, Feb. 11, at Schenectady’s Boulevard Bowl.

The Saints finished with a total pin fall of 5,629 to earn the team title over runner-up Canajoharie, but it was not enough to knock Class B champion Lansingburgh from its state tournament berth. The Knights will represent Section 2 in the small school division at the state tournament in Syracuse after posting a score of 5,912 on Friday.

Timmy Barrett led Spa Catholic with a six-game series of 1,175, while Zach Miles contributed a score of 1,143 on the day. Barrett’s performance included a high game of 279 during the afternoon session. Micaela Barboldt had the high three-game series for the Saints with a 610 during the morning session.
