Queensbury jumped out to a 5-2 halftime lead and held on for a 7-6 victory over Minisink Valley (Section 9) in a non-league boys lacrosse game Saturday, March 30.
Paul Wright had a hat trick, and Sean Collins contributed two goals and an assist for the Spartans. Goaltender Kellen Gannon made eight saves to earn the victory.
Jake Dolson and Steve Fellenzer each tallied a pair of goals for Minisink Valley.
In another non-league game, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake lost to Vestal (Section 4) 10-5. Owen Muller led BH-BL with a goal and an assist. Goalie Chris Serafini had 15 saves for the Spartans.
Colonie shut out Mohonasen/Schenectady 16-0 in a Suburban Council contest. Kenny Doan led the Garnet Raiders with four goals and three assists, while Tyler McGrue chipped in with four goals and an assist. Shane Rossi added a hat trick, and goalie Justin Loudis made six saves to earn the shutout.
Ganesh Govindan and Ethan Fish combined to make 21 saves between the pipes for Mohonasen/Schenectady.
