Ciara Mazzone scored five goals to lead Columbia to a 7-6 victory over Ballston Spa in a Suburban Council girls lacrosse game Thursday, April 4.
Ashley Murtagh and Elle Stringer also tallied for the Blue Devils, and goaltender Julia Hawkins made 12 saves to help Columbia hang on for the victory.
Maddy Barnum struck for four goals, and goalie Gia Burdick stopped six shots for the Scotties. Sam DeVito and Sarah Rule also scored goals.
Elsewhere in the Suburban Council, Shenendehowa built a three-goal halftime lead and defeated Saratoga Springs 14-10. McKenzie Ballard led the Plainsmen with a five-goal effort, and Abby Danson chipped in with a hat trick. Payton Kisling contributed two goals and two assists in Shen’s victory.
Lindsey Frank tallied four times for the Blue Streaks, while Sophia Burke and Reilly Hogan each added two goals and an assist.
Averill Park outscored Shaker 5-1 in the second half to pull out a 10-7 victory. Julia Foster led the Warriors with a hat trick.
Niskayuna stormed past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 15-3. Sydney McPartlon paced the Silver Warriors with a seven-goal afternoon, while goalie Kara Banagan made 11 saves. Gianna Sullivan stopped 14 shots between the pipes for the Spartans.
Schenectady/Mohonasen eased past Albany 15-1. Four players had multi-goal games for Schenectady/Mohonasen. Sophia Pearlman tallied for Albany.
