Canajoharie rapped out 19 hits in a 20-9 Western Athletic Conference softball victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo Wednesday, April 3.
McKenzie Bowerman belted a home run, while Alex Lathers and Molly Krug each contributed a triple for the Cougars, who rallied from an early deficit to post the victory. BKW also had 19 hits, but the Bulldogs struggled to convert those hits into runs.
In another WAC softball game, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons handled Galway 14-5. The Lady Knights scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie.
Hope Hiscock drove in four runs with three hits, and Jailene Santiago added three hits to the Lady Knights’ offense.
Duanesburg doubled up Schenectady 16-8 in a non-league softball game. Madeline Kenney struck out 14 Schenectady batters, and Victoria Silva recorded three hits to lead the Eagles. Annabelle Rieseler added a triple in the victory.
