Suburban Council girls lacrosse: Niskayuna edges Shenendehowa

The Niskayuna girls lacrosse team picked up an important Suburban Council victory by edging Shenendehowa 9-8 Thursday, April 11.

Sydney McPartlon notched a hat trick to pace the Silver Warriors. Peyton Reihs and C.J. Harvey each contributed a pair of goals, and goaltender Kara Banagan made 10 saves to preserve the victory.

Grace Palowodzinski tallied three times, and Olivia Howard added two goals for Shen.

In other Suburban Council action, Ciarra Mazzone set a school record for goals in a single game to lead Columbia past Shaker 15-10. Mazzone struck for eight goals for the Blue Devils, who held a 21-13 advantage in shots on goal over the Blue Bison.

Gabby Rivera scored four goals for Columbia, and Emily Hawkins added a goal and three assists. Katie Julien led Shaker with a four-goal afternoon.

Ballston Spa outscored Guilderland 7-2 in the second half to pull out a 14-9 victory over the Lady Dutch. Sarah Rule had six goals for the Scotties, and Jordyn Ostrander chipped in with four goals and two assists. Amanda Nieman tallied four times, and goalie Caitlin Mooney stopped 11 shots for Guilderland.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake struck for 13 goals in the first half on its way to a 22-3 victory over Colonie. MK Lescault and Ella Blesi each notched five goals for the Spartans, with Lescault adding three assists. Allie Connally and Sydney Fitzgerald had three goals apiece.

Loryn Don Vito, Rachel Roemer and Sophia Thompson tallied for Colonie.
