DELMAR – Bethlehem overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat Niskayuna 14-2 on Senior Night Thursday, May 9, in a Suburban Council softball game.
Clare Boegel singled home the first Lady Eagles’ run in the bottom of the first inning, and Haley Nash followed with a two-run double to put the home team ahead 3-2. Nash later drilled a three-run homer to put the game out of Niskayuna’s reach.
Boegel contributed a two-run single as part of Bethlehem’s 14-hit attack. Aria Losee doubled and scored a run, while Sophia DeFrancesco and Ashley Gillies each singled and scored a run.
Pitcher Anna Cleary struck out three batters and did not allow an earned run in five innings of work to pick up the victory for the Lady Eagles, who improved their record to 7-5 in the Suburban Council and 8-5 overall.
Bethlehem hosts Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Monday, May 13.
