Jacob Hand’s RBI single capped a three-run seventh inning rally for Niskayuna in a 4-3 victory over Colonie Saturday, May 18, in Niskayuna.
Colonie scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 3-1 lead, only to see Niskayuna tie the score on Aaron Whitely’s triple. Hand then singled in Whitley to give the Silver Warriors their 11th Suburban Council victory of the season.
Sam Morra earned the complete-game victory for Niskayuna, scattering seven hits and striking out 10 batters. Patrick Reilly suffered the loss for Colonie, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing nine hits against six strikeouts.
In a non-league baseball game, Queensbury rallied for an 8-3 victory over Shenendehowa in Clifton Park. The Spartans overcame a 3-0 deficit with two runs in the top of the fourth inning and four more in the fifith.
Nate Angell and Brendan Scott each had a pair of hits for Queensbury, and Matt Chase drove in a pair of runs. Patrick McGuire singled three times, and Jake Reinisch contributed a double and a single for Shen.
