Video: Gloversville defeats Glens Falls on the “Al Horford Play”

The official Gloversville boys basketball Twitter account called it the “Al Horford play.”

Joseph Rowback hit the winning basket as time expired to give the Dragons a 57-55 victory over Glens Falls Friday night. Shadowed by a lone Glens Falls defender, Rowback sprinted towards the basket and caught the inbounds pass. After the defender flew by, Rowback easily shot the ball through the hoop to give Gloversville the victory. Someone captured the moment on their cell phone, and the “Al Horford play” was shared to the world.

Rowback finished with 25 points, while teammate Dante Bouchard netted a team-high 29 points for Gloversville. Nick Danahy led Glens Falls with 15 points, and Noah Girard chipped in with 14 points.

The victory moved Gloversville into sole possession of first place in the Foothills Council and gave the Dragons a sweep of their regular-season series against Glens Falls. Gloversville improved to 10-1 in the league and 11-1 overall. Glens Falls dipped to 9-2 in the Foothills and 11-2 overall.
